Thingsflow, a subsidiary of Krafton, won the Grand Prize in the ‘Entertainment App of the Year’ award for its optional story game ‘Story Play’ at Google Play’s ‘Best of 2021 Awards’. Story Play, launched by Thingsflow in May 2021, is a chat-type interactive story service in which users become the protagonists of the story and create a story.
The user can change the ending of the story by choosing at the moment of decision and can select multiple endings. In addition, the user can enjoy not only original works but also works based on web novels and webtoons. Popular web novels based on the Naver series, ‘Golden Spirit: Joseon Marriage Prohibition’ and ‘The Team Leader is Tired of Newlyweds’, and the original works’ National Couples Challenge’ and ‘Punishment of Idols for School Abuse’ are getting good responses from users.
Award for year-round entertainment
Google Play’s ‘Best Apps and Games of the Year in 2021’ is an awards ceremony that selects apps and games that have received a lot of attention and love from users during the year on Google Play and selects them by category. The Grand Prize of ‘Entertainment App of the Year,’ awarded to Story Play of Thingsflow, is given to apps that have made the daily life of many users enjoyable and useful throughout the year. Story Play was also selected as a finalist for ‘Popular App of the Year.’
Thingsflow CEO Lee Su-ji said, “It is even more meaningful that ‘Story Play’ was selected as ‘Entertainment App of the Year’ as it is a participatory service in which users create their own stories. We will provide more interactive content to global users.”
Thingsflow is a content and AI startup established in June 2017 and has developed ‘HelloBot’, a messenger service dedicated to AI chatbots used by more than 4 million cumulatively. Korean gaming startup Krafton, the creator of famous PUBG games, acquired Thingsflow in June 2021. It has been operating the global couple messenger ‘Between’ and launched Story Play as a new service based on its know-how in operating chat content services.
