Korean Entrepreneurs, venture firms, startups, businesses and general audiences will get a chance to understand the minds behind the recent phenomenon in the AI world – the ChatGPT as Sam Altman, the CEO of the company OpenAI that developed the chatbot, visits Seoul next month.
As part of his global tour, Sam Altman plans to visit South Korea to engage with AI users, developers, and enthusiasts. On June 9th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups is organizing an event to host the OpenAI CEO.
SoftBank Ventures, a leading venture capital firm in South Korea, plans to co-host the event with OpenAI, a preeminent AI research and technology company. The event will feature a dialogue session with Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI. There will also be a Q&A session with the audience.
Sponsored by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and co-hosted by OpenAI and SoftBank Ventures, the event invites AI developers and researchers in Korea and the wider public, including entrepreneurs, business professionals, and students interested in artificial intelligence. Registration for the event begins on May 31st at noon through the event’s website.
At this event, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will participate in a dialogue session alongside Professor Jo Kyung-hyun, a renowned AI natural language processing expert from New York University, and SoftBank Ventures CEO Lee Jun-pyo.
During the session, they will discuss OpenAI’s mission to develop safe and powerful AI for humanity’s benefit while sharing their opinions on various innovations and the future implications of artificial intelligence.
ChatGPT has gained global popularity, surpassing 100 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs). In March, OpenAI released the development source (plugin, API) for ChatGPT to activate the AI ecosystem. Various applications utilizing ChatGPT have been launched, and its potential for expansion in a wide range of markets is attracting attention.
Lee Jun-ho, the CEO of SoftBank Ventures, who co-hosted this event, stated, “I hope that this event will serve as an opportunity for OpenAI, which is presenting a new paradigm in the generative AI field, and domestic AI industry professionals to communicate closely.”
