The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), hosted the ‘2023 Content Insight’ lecture series. Geared towards content creators and industry practitioners, the event will be a rich source of knowledge and inspiration. The two-day event takes place at the Content Talent Campus in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, on November 23-24.
The ‘2023 Content Insight’ is aimed to provide a platform for seasoned experts in the content arena to shed light on the latest trends and future trajectories within the industry.
With the overarching theme of ‘Expansion and Diversity of the Content Market’, attendees willget the opportunity to glean insights from industry giants and creators spearheading the evolution and convergence of content IP.
Diverse Perspectives and Expertise
The event boasts a lineup of domestic and international experts spanning various facets of the content landscape. The first session, on November 23rd, kicks off with session with Ryan Michero of Pixar, renowned for his directorial contributions to blockbusters such as ‘Toy Story 4’ and ‘Coco’. Following this, Center Director Hwang Jaeheon from Kakao Entertainment engages in a dialogue with Vice President Kim Yohan of R2D Company, delving into strategies for the survival and expansion of content IPs. Vice-CEO Jung Woosung from Mediagroup Take2 will highlight examples of IP business expansion through K-dramas.
The second session will showcase insights from mentees participating in the Content Creative Talent Accompanying Project. Esteemed creatives like writer Kim Minseok and director Choi Hangyong are sharing their expertise, providing invaluable perspectives on creative diversity. Manager Park Yeoungsoo of NEW Film Division Investment Team will illuminate the diversity of content creation from an investment and planning standpoint.
The convergence session on November 24 will explore the intersection of technology and content production. Director Kim Hyeonjeong from LG HelloVision will talk about the Culture Tech exhibition as a prime example of the evolving paradigm where content and technology intersect. Branch Manager Kim Yeongjin of Disguise Korea will delve into innovative camera visual effects and evolving technologies in the content industry.
Workshops and Networking Opportunities
The event culminates with a session focusing on the convergence of platform and content distribution, featuring insights from industry luminaries such as Executive Director Kim Taewon from Google Korea, Lead Yang Siwon from TVING, and Director Alex Kim from VEVO.
In addition to lectures, the event offers in-depth workshops tailored for content creators and business professionals. Customized mentoring and networking opportunities with speakers is available for pre-registrants. Notably, a separate workshop with Vice President Addy Ghani from Disguise for practical training over three days is also part of the event.
The talks and lectures of ‘2023 Content Insight’ will be accessible both online and offline. Online lectures will be live-streamed via KOCCA ‘s official YouTube channel, ensuring widespread accessibility.
