Kfoodtech's robotic kitchen brand

Korean startup KFoodtech Inc., a specialist in kitchen automation solutions and food tech, is gearing up to introduce its cutting-edge robotic kitchen solution, BotBob, to the United States. With a strong foundation in kitchen automation technology and a track record of innovation, the company is poised to transform the restaurant industry by addressing longstanding challenges such as labor shortages, rising operational costs, and maintaining consistent food quality.

KFoodtech Inc.’s journey began with the launch of the prototype robotic kitchen for Korean cuisine in August 2021. Named “Bobby,” this cooking robot is set to revolutionize the restaurant industry by enhancing efficiency in various restaurant operations. The BotBob system is designed to offer a comprehensive and seamless solution for restaurant owners, encompassing everything from food preparation to serving, delivery, and payment processing.

Enhancing Workplace Safety & Efficiency

KFoodtech Inc. has unveiled BotBob, the world’s first Korean Food Robot Kitchen in South Korea. This breakthrough comes after two years of relentless efforts, during which the company developed a stew-cooking robot named Bobby, which now operates as part of the BotBob system.

Bobby, the stew robot, can cook up to 6 servings of traditional Korean stew in 3 minutes and 30 seconds. This remarkable feat is a testament to KFoodtech’s commitment to merging technology and tradition, resulting in dishes prepared with unparalleled precision and speed.

One of the key advantages of the BotBob system is its ability to create a safer and more comfortable working environment for restaurant staff. Isolating the frying process in a separate space or booth protects employees from high heat and fumes, ensuring their well-being. Moreover, BotBob’s efficiency shines during peak hours, as it can handle a higher volume of customers, reducing wait times and improving the overall dining experience.

Taaping Into New Markets

KFoodtech Inc. has demonstrated its innovation in the field and secured significant milestones in terms of funding and intellectual property. In 2021, the company received a substantial $0.2 million grant from the Korean Institute for Robot Industry Advancement to support its service robot business R&D. Additionally, the company has published two patents and issued one IP portfolio patent in 2022, showcasing its commitment to protecting its cutting-edge technology.

The company’s journey towards innovation continues with completing the Bobby-B prototype in 2023. This development brings KFoodtech Inc. closer to realizing its ambitious goal of introducing BotBob to the United States. The company aims to open its first BotBob restaurant in the US in the second half of 2024, following the acquisition of UL certification.

KFoodtech Inc.’s vision extends to selling its Smart Robotic Kitchen Solution to major global restaurant franchises, targeting 36,000 Korean cuisine restaurants and 26,000 pork cutlet & chicken restaurants with a demand for frying cooking robots. Furthermore, they are tapping into the vast $5 billion mass catering market for schools in Korea, demonstrating their commitment to providing efficient solutions across various culinary landscapes.

In the US market, where the fast-food industry is valued at a staggering $331 billion, KFoodtech Inc. aims to set its mark. Currently holding only a 4% market share among Asian food offerings, the company aims to capture a substantial portion of this market with BotBob’s innovative capabilities.
