NEWJAK, a leading company in realistic content XR, led by CEO Jeong Hae-hyun, is participating in the ‘Seoul ADEX (Aerospace and Defense Exhibition) 2023’ organized by the Korea Aerospace Industries Association, the Korea Defense Industry Association, and KOTRA, and hosted by the Seoul ADEX Joint Operations Headquarters.
‘Seoul ADEX (Aerospace and Defense Exhibition) 2023’ will be held from the 17th to the 22nd at Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where the status of the Korean defense industry can be seen immediately. NEWJAK plans to showcase the “XR Shooting Training Simulation” and “XR Training System” through experience and exhibition.
The ‘XR Shooting Training Simulation’ utilizes specially designed controllers based on real guns, allowing for wireless and unrestricted movement without needing an HMD (Head Mounted Display). It enables multiple experiences and maximizes audience immersion by using various maps. Additionally, at this exhibition, they will showcase the controller’s functionality, which has been further developed to allow shooting training with magazine changes, simulating real training scenarios.
The ‘XR Training System’ is an entertainment-focused XR physical training program that enhances the exercise effects of daily physical activities in an XR immersive environment. It currently includes various maps such as agility maps, laser jump rope maps, and green zone maps. At this exhibition, visitors can experience the laser jump rope map firsthand. The laser jump rope map involves jumping to avoid lasers appearing from all directions, providing training to improve agility and endurance.
At the exhibition booth, NEWJAK will also utilize the ‘XRlogin Block’ system developed by the company. ‘XRlogin Block’ is a system that combines a portable six-sided immersive space and six-sided immersive content production as a package. It is designed with an assembly-based and expandable structure, allowing for the creation of ultra-realistic exhibition spaces without constraints on location.
The company CEO, Haehyun Jung, stated, “The modular mobile XR system, ‘XRlogin Block,’ is a system that is not currently commercialized in the market. It will be a great opportunity to showcase it at Seoul ADEX 2023. Using the technology and know-how accumulated over several years, NEWJAK has developed a modular mobile XR package that constitutes highly immersive six-sided spatial content. Based on this, we plan to develop various combat scenario contents for actual training and introduce and install them.”
NEWJAK has also participated in the defense venture company incubating support program sponsored by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute in 2022. It is currently a resident company of the Pangyo Startup Campus, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development and the GCCEI.
