Korean driving data specialty startup ‘3Secondz’ introduced its advanced control systems and R&D data collection technology at the ‘HankookTechnoring,’ Asia’s largest driving test center for Hankook Tire. 3Secondz’s technology is being used to develop next-generation tires for Hankook Tire.

Hankook Technoring is a new proving ground in Taean, South Korea, with a state-of-the-art R&D facility for Hankook’s most advanced products. Hankook Tire held an inaugural ceremony at Hankook Technoring on May 25, inviting media and partners to attend. The company presented Hankook’s mid-and-long-term innovation strategy and commitment to Hankook Technoring for sustainable growth. 3Secondz’s control and driving analysis software ‘TeamSolution’ was introduced at Hankook Technoring. Founded in 2016, 3Secondz provides innovative insights into car racing, the automobile industry, and even mobility through real-time vehicle driving data collection and AI data analysis service.

Startup presents control system and R&D data collection technology

3Secondz’s control and driving analysis software ‘TeamSolution’ is characterized by integrating the control system of the test vehicle with the R&D data collection technology required for tire development. In general, the control system of a test vehicle requires the installation of infrastructure such as numerous equipment, but 3 Secondz’ ‘Team Solution’ is a compact, self-developed ‘XYRO’ equipment that detects not only the location of the vehicle but also the vehicle behavior, The external sensor data can be integrated and managed in real-time with 3Secondz’ solution. In addition, 3Secondz secures the highest level of data precision. The collected data can be directly used for R&D by applying a solution applied to professional racing sites that require 1/1000 second precision, unlike the existing control system for simple location tracking.

The ‘Team Solution’ program is web-based, enabling real-time monitoring of vehicle behavior and internal information. Through an intuitive UI, all vehicles being tested at Asia’s largest driving test site, nearly the size of about 125 soccer fields, are displayed. Control is possible with only one monitor.

The vast amount of collected data is provided to users through automatic analysis and visualization through 3Secondz’s cloud server. Supporting automatic report generation for various purposes such as handling, braking, and durability tests can significantly improve the convenience of researchers compared to existing solutions that only provide original driving data. Since all these processes are performed in real-time, it can reduce time and resources 16 times compared to the existing R&D data collection and processing process. (Three Seconds Prediction Result)

Racing insights & AI driving education

3Seondz was founded by racers from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and was selected as a technical partner of CJ Korea Express Super Race based on a solution to improve racers’ performance through data collection and control system technology. And it supports a brilliant real-time data relay comparable to F1 in the SUPER6000 series. In addition, the company is expanding its activities by applying its outstanding technology proven through racing to various automobile and mobility industries, including autonomous driving. 3Secondz conducts driving education programs through the world’s only self-developed AI driving coach solution for customers of leading domestic and foreign automobile brands and has completed the cumulative 400,000 km of track driving coaching as of the end of 2021.
