Korean startup Snippod, led by CEO Lee Sung-kyu, has unveiled its latest service – an information-sharing platform that gathers internet links under topic-based hashtags.
Snippod is a revolutionary platform that aggregates trending links with hashtags (“#”). The inception of Snippod stemmed from CEO Lee Sung-kyu’s quest to easily compile valuable information. The platform enables users to share and access a wide range of content, from news and blogs to YouTube videos.
Users can tag relevant links with one to three hashtags, based on the content theme. They can follow hashtags that resonate with their interests, such as #Startup, #Marketing, #Tech, or #App&Service, and access information curated under these topics.
While conventional social media platforms utilize hashtags, they operate independently. In contrast, Snippod, offers an interconnected tree structure of hashtags, where information is organized under both overarching and specific themes. For example, hashtags such as #Tech – #AI – #ChatbotAI – #ChatGPT indicate hierarchical relationships, enabling users to search for broad categories or delve into specific topics.
As of August 10, 2023, Snippod curates approximately 1,200 unique pieces of information daily by theme, sourced from hashtags. This is an impressive feat, as the platform sifts through 40,000 web pages and 20,000 videos to select links meeting its stringent criteria from the vast pool of new internet content. The platform’s content ranking is enhanced by a refined Reddit hot algorithm.
Following the beta version, Snippod has broadened the range of themes available, now boasting 12,993 hashtags. Moreover, the platform continually generates over ten new hashtags daily, reflecting real-time trending topics on search engines. Users also have the flexibility to create their desired themes and share links.
CEO Lee Sung-kyu highlighted the platform’s immense value for creators seeking to effortlessly share content via links and for users looking to access information efficiently. “I aim to evolve this platform into an indispensable hub where high-quality and useful information is continually generated and disseminated,” he remarked. Snippod is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, as well as on their official website.
