WeMade Play, a game company led by CEO Lee Ho-dae, has acquired a 20% stake in StandEgg, another game company co-led by CEOs Go Young-woo and Kim Sung-kyun. This investment has resulted in WeMade Play becoming one of the three major shareholders in StandEgg. The primary objective of this collaboration is to develop two different games based on the popular intellectual property (IP) known as Anipang.
WeMade Play, established in 2021, is partnering with StandEgg to create an Anipang IP game, marking WeMade Play’s first game developed externally. StandEgg gained recognition with the release of their mobile game ‘Cat Garden’ last year.
WeMade Play has been actively expanding the Anipang IP into various platforms and regions. With the investment in StandEgg, the company aims to engage in IP-based publishing ventures with promising game developers. This collaboration will allow WeMade Play to utilize its understanding of venture development companies and national IP to support StandEgg in merging genres and enhancing their expertise.
Both Lee Ho-dae and Kim Sung-kyun expressed their excitement about the collaboration. Kim Sung-kyun stated that through working with WeMade Play, StandEgg expects to improve its genre merging capabilities and deliver an exceptional game that meets expectations as the first game company expanding the Anipang IP.
Lee Ho-dae emphasized that WeMade Play will leverage its strong IP, development capabilities, and operational expertise to present a fresh interpretation of Anipang. Furthermore, WeMade Play plans to expand its services and foster joint growth with other development companies involved in the expansion of Anipang IP and publishing ventures.
