The third edition of the KoreaTechDesk Virtual Demo Day, held on June 24, was a resounding success. It spotlighted the burgeoning innovation ecosystem in South Korea.
Two enterprising Korean startups and the distinguished Szymon Struszyński, Head of Acceleration at Rebels Valley, a prominent Polish business consultancy, participated in the event.
Innovative Startups on Display
Flashfeed and MF Construction & Robotics were the two Korean startups that took center stage, presenting their groundbreaking technologies aimed at transforming their respective industries.
Flashfeed is an AI-driven platform designed to assist businesses in quickly creating and optimizing video ads. Founder Evan Joyal, who has extensive experience in web development, design, and video production, emphasized how Flashfeed addresses the growing demand for video marketing by streamlining the ad creation process.
“Our goal is to eliminate the guesswork in ad creation, allowing users to focus on creativity while we handle the analytics,” Joyal stated. The platform’s advanced AI comprehends various elements of video content, making it a versatile tool for freelancers and small marketing teams, as suggested by Struszyński.
MF Construction & Robotics is revolutionizing the construction industry with its innovative drones and robots designed to replace human workers in hazardous tasks. Founded by Egor Shubin, the company aims to enhance safety and efficiency on construction sites by automating dangerous jobs such as painting and window cleaning.
Shubin was inspired by the high mortality rates in the construction industry, notably during the 2022 FIFA World Cup preparations in Qatar. The company, currently in the MVP stage, is testing various machines and software systems, including object detection and autopilot task operation algorithms, to refine its products based on customer feedback. “Our team sees robotization as the best solution for all these issues,” Shubin asserted.
Expert Insights and Mentorship
Szymon Struszyński, a seasoned leader and strategy expert known for his pioneering work in fostering innovation ecosystems, provided invaluable insights and strategic advice to startups. His interaction with the founders of Flashfeed and MF Construction & Robotics highlighted the potential of these startups to address critical industry challenges and pave the way for global expansion.
Struszyński’s engagement underscored Rebels Valley’s commitment to supporting startups from underrepresented regions. His feedback on target customers and product aspects demonstrated a deep understanding of the startups’ technologies and their market applications.
