KoreaTechDesk Virtual Demo Day January 23

The first KoreaTechDesk Virtual Demo Day of 2025, held on January 23, set the tone for a promising year ahead. Bringing together three dynamic Korean startups and a distinguished panel of venture capitalists and industry experts from India and Malaysia, the event created a vibrant platform for innovation, global feedback, and collaborative opportunities.

A Platform for Innovation and Growth

This edition of the Demo Day provided a focused stage for Korean startups to present their groundbreaking ideas to an audience of global investors, strategic partners, and mentors.

Participating Startups:

  1. Ekleer Co., Ltd.
Known for their Work and Play Smart Display, which transforms any Android phone into a 22″/24″ PC or entertainment hub, Ekleer provides a cost-effective solution for low-income households and schools.
  2. Perfitt
Specializing in AI-driven footwear size recommendations, Perfitt improves customer satisfaction while reducing return rates—a game-changer for the footwear industry.
  3. Topundred Inc.
Developers of Jellywalk, a prototype-stage app that incentivizes walking by offering rewards in areas where walking is less common, encouraging healthier lifestyles.

Event Highlights

A stellar lineup of mentors and investors led the discussions, offering actionable insights and strategies to the startups.

  • Abhiram Bhalerao, Partner at V3 Ventures  (India) and Venture Investor at Verlinvest, shared invaluable feedback on product positioning, competition, branding, and global expansion strategies. Abhiram emphasized India’s enormous market potential, driven by the growing popularity of Korean culture (K-Wave) and government support for foreign business entry.

“India is a diverse market with great consumption value. It is an attractive market for global brands. Korean startups, riding on the wave of K-culture in India, have immense potential to succeed here.”

  • Khalid Alif, Vice President of Vynn Capital (Malaysia), and Shijo Prakash, a K-Beauty marketing and distribution expert, provided key insights on forming successful partnerships and identifying market-specific opportunities.
