Korean startups’ innovation and technologies have been lauded by the global community. Korean companies have always outshined at the world’s biggest & influential tech event – the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held annually in the USA.
Ahead of the CES 2022, which will be held from January 5 to 8, the organization announced the CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honorees. It is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products across 27 product categories. This year CES 2022 Innovation Awards program received a record-high number of over 1800 submissions. Korean companies have swept the CES Innovation Awards Honourees list. While Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics & LG Electronics have won a record number of awards, Korean startups have also garnered attention.
The event organized by Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® was held fully digital in 2021 owing to pandemic restrictions. In 2022 it will be held in Las Vegas, and the selected Korean startups will showcase their innovative technology and products to the world. The CES 2022 Innovation Award honorees are chosen by an independent panel of industry experts, judges, designers, engineers, and members of media, based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design. Honourees get to showcase their product in the Innovation Awards Showcase at CES, located at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. The ‘Best of Innovation’ is announced during the event.

Bitsensing
Korean imaging radar company Consumer Electronics Show (CES), will showcase its AIR 4D, in the Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation category. bitsensing’s 79GHz AIR 4D is an imaging radar solution featuring Multi-Chip Cascading technology to improve target detection, produce elite high-resolution 4D imaging, and aid in autonomous driving collision avoidance to drastically reduce crashes and fatalities occurring on the roads today. From design to mass production, bitsensing created AIR 4D to forever transform autonomous driving and improve how all vehicles understand their surroundings.

VisualCamp
Visual Camp will showcase in the Software category for SeeSo, a no hardware eye-tracking software development kit (SDK). SeeSo is an AI-based eye-tracking solution that provides deep insights into how users interact with apps and websites. Utilizing the front-facing camera from the user’s device, SeeSo allows users to scroll, click, and take control of their mobile devices and computers with just their eyes, providing new opportunities for education, streaming platforms, and health industries. At the same time, businesses collect useful gaze data, including where the user’s attention is and overall activity.

Nthing
Korean AgriTech startup N.THING Inc is an Honoree for Sustainability, eco-design and smart energy and it’s their second time to be awarded after winning the Best Innovation Awards in CES 2020 for smart city category.
N.THING’s CUBE is an indoor modular vertical farm that does not affect or change the surrounding environment. And now more engineered to reduce using earth resources, it enhances producing clean and safe yields free from pollution and pesticides inside the farm to cultivate sustainably by saving energy and creating a sustainable ecosystem. CUBE is elaborating a decentralized farming solution that can be set up in any city without relying on imports and logistics for easy access to the traceable food supply. Not only for functionality, its design is dedicated to the efficiency but simplicity of productivity in an aesthetic way as a city farm.
They are now running vertical farms in Yongin, Andong, Icheon(will be launched in Jan2022) and an in-store farm showroom ‘Sik Mul Sung Dosan’ in Korea, are planning to expand the farm on a large scale in the Middle East as a result of the successful PoC completion in the UAE.

DeepBrain AI
The AI driven startup will present its script to video solution AI Studios script in ‘Streaming’ category. AI Studios is a video production tool that makes it easy to produce videos without the need to film or employ the real people. By combining DeepBrain’s AI Studios in the form of SaaS and a computer, it’s possible to eliminate costly studio, lighting, camera, set staff, and even the video host. Just by typing the script, this enables the AI anchor to naturally speak, use body language and gestures just like a real presenter. Individuals, small & big entities can produce various content videos, such as YouTube, corporate training and news, all without equipment or expertise.
The CEO of DeepBrain AI, Eric Jang commented on this achievement – “This year DeepBrain AI has truly showcased it’s technological and commercial capabilities both at home and abroad. Waynehills Ventures
The startup will be an Honoree for Software and Mobile apps category for its AI software service that automatically produces/converts voice data into video content.
Waynehills Ventures uses TTV (Text to Video) and STV (Speech to Video) AI algorithms to extract the dictionary meaning of words based on natural language processing, machine learning, and speech speaker separation technology from text and voice-based data to create digital images. Wayne Hills has developed software that automatically converts and produces content. Recently, it expanded its business to the metaverse service area along with algorithm technology. Through the Metaverse-related smartphone camera video, ‘AI Digital Human Algorithm’ can track human behavior and create various 3D characters in the Metaverse virtual space. The startup was also part of the CES 2021 program.
