Wave Company’s TracMe: How Smart Sensors are Shaping the Future of Fitness

Wave Company, a leader in digital health and wearable technology, has successfully mass-produced and commercialized TracSil (Tracking Silicone), a stretchable and attachable wearable sensor.

Spearheaded by CEO Cho Nayoun, TracSil is designed to precisely monitor health conditions and movements. Crafted using the company’s proprietary silicone textile technology, the sensor offers exceptional flexibility, durability, and washability, making it ideal for detecting and analyzing various physical activities.

Building on this innovation, Wave Company has introduced TracMe, a smart fitness solution powered by TracSil. TracMe combines advanced motion tracking with AI-driven coaching to deliver a personalized, portable, and data-centric fitness experience. Designed for versatility, TracMe caters to users at home, in the gym, or on the move, offering a seamless blend of technology and convenience for fitness enthusiasts.

TracMe offers AI-powered personalized workout routines designed to simplify fitness for beginners. The device’s app includes animated emojis and video guides, making it easy to follow exercises even for those unfamiliar with fitness regimens.

Equipped with TracSil-based textile sensors, the TracMe bracer automatically measures movements and wirelessly transmits data in real-time to the app. Currently supporting 250 bodyweight exercises and stretches, TracMe plans to expand its repertoire to include over 40 dumbbell and resistance band exercises. Continuous updates will ensure users enjoy an engaging and evolving fitness experience while archiving their workout data for long-term progress tracking.

TracMe offers personalized coaching and data-sharing capabilities for advanced fitness enthusiasts and amateur athletes. The AI-powered coaching analyzes workout data to provide tailored recommendations for achieving fitness goals. Users can seamlessly share their workout stats with personal trainers at fitness centers, enabling more targeted and efficient training sessions. This feature also supports athletes by offering data-driven insights to better manage their physical condition and improve performance.

As a comprehensive healthcare platform, TracMe combines advanced wearable technology and AI to deliver personalized fitness solutions. The device uses Wave Company’s proprietary nano-material-based sensors to detect user movements and provides customized exercise recommendations. With a battery life of up to 30 hours, Bluetooth connectivity, and a washable design, TracMe ensures a seamless user experience. Its versatile applications in fitness, rehabilitation, and industrial monitoring highlight its potential as an intelligent platform that bridges technology and wellness.

TracMe has already made an impact, securing the CES 2024 Digital Health Innovation Award and launching at Lotte Hi-Mart, South Korea’s largest electronics retailer. Powered by TracSil, the soft, stretchable sensor developed by Wave Company, TracMe achieves unparalleled motion-tracking precision while maintaining durability and flexibility.

With support for over 10,000 deformation cycles, TracSil offers a cost-effective and strong alternative to traditional motion-tracking technologies, expanding its applicability from fitness to industrial and healthcare monitoring.

Smartwear experienced rapid growth a decade ago but struggled to achieve widespread adoption due to unclear value propositions and high costs. Wave Company has addressed these challenges through years of research in smart textile materials, successfully lowering the cost barrier with its innovative production process.

TracMe leverages proprietary textile sensors to replace traditional IMU and vision sensors, offering users a precise and personalized fitness experience. Compatible with both Android and Apple devices, TracMe could redefine the trajectory of smart fitness in the global market.

Looking ahead, Wave Company plans to introduce TracMe to the U.S. market in 2025, tailoring its app to meet the needs of American users. Upcoming features include integration with gym equipment, expanded wearable compatibility, and advanced personalization tools. With a goal to reach over 1 million global users by 2027, Wave Company aims to establish TracMe as a leader in AI-powered fitness technology.

Nancy Cho, CEO of Wave Company, highlighted the broader potential of TracSil technology, noting its applications in healthcare, rehabilitation, robotics, and industrial monitoring. She affirmed the company’s mission to make advanced fitness technology accessible to all for healthier and more active lifestyles worldwide.
