Korean startup MOVV, short for “Move as a VIP,” is making waves in the world of transportation and Mobility with its innovative approach to travel. Unlike traditional ride-hailing services, MOVV offers a comprehensive and integrated transportation system known as Mobility as a Service (MaaS). This system seamlessly combines various transportation options, such as dedicated drivers and vehicles, to cater to the diverse needs of travelers. Whether it’s a leisure trip, a business journey, a visit to the golf course, or even a hospital transfer, MOVV allows users to reserve and use transportation for each stage of their trip through a single platform.

As the name suggests, MOVV aims to make every traveler feel like a VIP. The company’s commitment to premium mobility service is evident in its dedication to providing a premium special experience, covering the entire travel route with a touch of sophistication. MOVV’s services are not limited to traditional taxis or ride-sharing; instead, they encompass a wide range of transportation modes, chauffeur service including rental cars and trains, offering a convenient alternative for those who prefer not to drive or cannot do so.
In Korea, MOVV operates in compliance with the “No Ride Act,” demonstrating its consideration for the local taxi industry. The company’s rental car services with drivers are designed for trips lasting more than six hours, such as golf outings or airport transfers. This thoughtful approach is a testament to MOVV’s commitment to being a responsible player in
the transportation sector.
Despite facing initial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic shortly after its launch in Southeast Asia in 2019, MOVV has used adversity as an opportunity to strengthen its foundation. The company focused on enhancing its services in Korea, catering to golf course travel, independent travel, and business trips, thus increasing its domestic brand recognition.
Strategic Partnerships & Vision for the Future
Simultaneously, MOVV worked on expanding its infrastructure for global reach and system development in Europe, laying the groundwork for its international expansion. MOVV’s most recent milestone is its partnership with Rail Europe, a global railway ticket and pass distributor, and Sixt, Europe’s largest rental car company. This collaboration represents a significant step forward, as it aims to provide travelers with a one-stop mobility solution that seamlessly connects Europe’s airports, railways, and roadways.
The MOVV app currently serves approximately 60 cities in 12 countries, including popular destinations like Guam, Saipan, and various Southeast Asian locations. Originally launched in Southeast Asia and Taiwan in 2019, the service has since gained popularity among travelers, particularly golf enthusiasts from Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
While the app initially targeted South Korean tourists, MOVV is preparing to support English-speaking travelers, catering to the international tourism market. To further solidify its presence in global markets, MOVV plans to seek partnerships with airlines, hotel chains, and established car-hailing companies, expanding its reach and offering travelers a holistic mobility experience.
