4BY4 Launches Beta Service for PIXELL

4BY4, a leading Korean company specializing in content AI solutions, has announced the beta release of its cutting-edge video quality enhancement tool, Pixell. Initially available exclusively to select corporate clients via B2B contracts and API integrations, Pixell is now being opened to a broader audience through a web-based platform and on-premises service. This new phase is aimed at making the powerful upscaling tool accessible to a wider range of users, from video production teams to individual creators. The full service is slated for an official launch in early 2025, while the current beta is focused on engaging video production professionals and VFX, post-production experts.

Boost Video Quality to 4K and Beyond

Pixell is a deep learning-based AI solution that transforms any type of videos into 4K and higher resolutions with a single click. Its fast-processing power enables it to complete tasks up to 1,000 times faster than manual workflows, processing a one-minute video in less than a minute, while also reducing data transmission requirements (bitrate) by up to 50%. This efficiency makes it ideal for video production environments where time and costs are critical. The service recently drew attention when it was used by Wavve, a leading OTT platform, to upscale the video quality of the hit K-drama ‘My Lovely Sam-soon’ from SD to 4K, earning widespread interest from content professionals.

As demand for high-resolution content grows, production workflows are becoming increasingly complex and expensive. Creating content in 4K or 8K resolution typically requires longer rendering times, higher production costs, and extensive post-production work. Pixell offers a game-changing solution by allowing teams to render in standard resolutions, such as 2K, and then upscale the footage to ultra-high definition without compromising quality. This not only speeds up production but also reduces costs, enabling teams to meet the growing demands of modern video production more efficiently.

Unlimited Access During Beta Phase

In preparation for the official service launch, 4BY4 is conducting a beta testing program called Team Pixell. This initiative brings together VFX professionals, post-production specialists, freelancers, and video studios to explore how Pixell can streamline their workflows. Participants can apply the solution to their ongoing projects, test its ability to enhance visual quality, and experience reduced rendering times. The company is offering unlimited access to Pixell’s services during the beta phase, along with dedicated technical support to meet the specific needs of different production environments. Participants who provide insightful feedback will also be eligible for discounted access to Pixell’s services after the official launch.

Junho Yun, CEO of 4BY4, expressed confidence in Pixell’s potential to transform the industry, stating: “Pixell’s groundbreaking upscaling capabilities will revolutionize VFX and post-production workflows by significantly enhancing efficiency. Our goal is to make Pixell easily accessible and quick to use in any production environment, ensuring that ‘visual enhancement’ becomes a standard step in all video content creation processes.” He added, “Through close collaboration with industry professionals during the beta phase, we are committed to refining the solution and delivering a service that meets the real-world needs of our users.”
