Demo of Nau Robotics’ multi-joint robot 'Nuro-X' for plastic injection linked to the LS Mtron injection machine.

Robotics startup Nau Robotics Co., Ltd., which specializes in industrial robots, unveiled a new multi-joint take-out robot for plastic injection ‘NURO X,’ at the ‘International Packaging Equipment Exhibition 2022′ held at KINTEX, Gyeonggi-do. Nau Robotics drew visitors’ attention by demonstrating the operation of the articulated robot NURO X in conjunction with the LS Mtron injection machine. It was released in April 2022, the first time it has been demonstrated in an offline field.

Nuro X garners attention at the Industrial exhibition

Nau Robotics presented various ways to apply automation to injection sites by directly meeting more than 200 corporate customers by adding catalogs and promotional materials. An official from Nau Robotics said, “Nuro-X can automate various post-processing processes such as cutting, loading and palletizing, as well as inserting and taking out, and it has received a positive response; from the audience that it is very economical.”

An orthogonal robot is used to remove finished products from an injection machine and moves them to a conveyor. Nau Robotics explained that the newly launched ‘Nuro X’ articulated robot could change the shape of plastics to move to the conveyor after production, thus overcoming the limitations of existing orthogonal robots. But in the orthogonal robot, there was no processing function to change the shape of the plastic injection machine, so there was a burden for the customer to additionally operate an automatic cutting machine along with the orthogonal robot. The company said that ‘Nuro X’ has the advantage that it can be operated without a robot expert by applying easy UI/UX programming.

CEO Lee Jong-joo said, “The company introduced Nuro X articulated robot after the establishment of the robot mass production system, and the satisfaction of industry officials was high. We will actively promote robot series products incorporating the differentiated technology of the company.”

To enter the logistics field & listing on KOSDAQ

Established in 2016, Nau Robotics is developing and producing three major types of industrial robots: articulated robots (4 types), orthogonal robots (11 types), and scara robots (4 types). Having achieved considerable sales success in South Korea, Nau Robotics is looking to expand to global markets. A company official said, “We do not have an overseas subsidiary yet, but we are expanding sales in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.” He added that the NuroX sales contract is signed in Thailand, and the business area is expanding by entering into partnerships in Eastern Europe and the United States.

Nau Robotics plans to expand beyond the plastic injection robot market to the logistics automation market as well by introducing two new logistics robots in the second half of this year.

Meanwhile, the company is also preparing to enter the KOSDAQ exchange with increased sales. Nau Robotics has signed a contract with Hi Investment & Securities to supervise the IPO listing on the KOSDAQ in April of last year and is looking forward to listing in the first half of next year.
