In the burgeoning field of smart farming, Korean startup Tweenonano has carved a niche with its groundbreaking nano-heating film and odour-reducing equipment, designed to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of smart farms. Established in 2015, the company has evolved from a one-person venture to a registered smart farm company in 2019, contributing significantly to the realm of facility horticulture and livestock management.
Smart farms, characterized by the integration of IoT, big data, AI, automated systems, and robotics, have revolutionized the agricultural sector by enabling remote and automated management of crops and livestock environments. Tweenonano has embraced this technology, addressing the increasing social concerns arising from the odour of livestock manure, which has become prominent due to the escalating consumption of livestock products.
Nano Heating Film and Odour Management
Leveraging Carbon Nano Base Ink Technology, Tweenonano has developed a nano heating film that adeptly adjusts its power consumption by altering its resistance through contraction and expansion as the film temperature changes. This innovation not only ensures optimal energy usage but also provides a stable temperature, crucial for maintaining the health and productivity of livestock.
Moreover, the company has introduced odour reducing equipment to tackle the prevalent issue of smells emanating from livestock manure, which has been a subject of various complaints and social problems. Proper ventilation, facilitated by smart fans and air conditioners, is paramount in maintaining a conducive atmospheric environment in barns, ensuring the health and well-being of the animals.
In addition to its smart farm solutions, Tweenonano has developed Tweeno Super Nano Heating pads, which have found applications in temperature control during the transportation of goods in flexitanks and shipping IBC tanks. These reversible pads, designed for versatile usage, eliminate the need for additional heating time and costs during transport by utilizing electricity for heating in the factory.
Projected Growth and Expansion Strategies
Tweenonano has also made strides in the global market, with a sales forecast for its Nano Heating Film projected to reach $1.5 million in 2023 and escalate to $5.0 million by 2027. The company aims to expand its customer base from 7 overseas customers in 2023 to a target of 30 by 2027.
Tweenonano’s journey from its inception to its current status as a smart farm company has been marked by notable milestones, including the transfer of smart cable technology using wave energy in January 2023, TIPS investments, product exports to Singapore, a MOA signing with Saudi Arabia, and various patent applications and agreements. The company, with its innovative solutions has a vision to contributing to a larger, more sustainable world.
