The Gyeonggido Business Science Accelerator (Director: Kang Sung-cheon hereinafter referred to as GBSA) will host an online event, “Pangyo x Saudi Arabia: Bridging Innovations,” in collaboration with global venture capital for Pangyo startups on November 23.
As part of the Agency’s startup global expansion support program, this event follows networking events in Silicon Valley in September, Singapore in October, and Japan. The event will feature Pangyo innovation startup investment attraction Investor Relations (IR) sessions and mentoring sessions with Saudi venture capital representatives to be followed by a Q&A session.
Participating startups include ThisIsEngineering (CEO Hong Yoo-jeong), a drone platform with autonomous capabilities and a next-generation mobility development company; VEStellaLab (CEO Jung Sang-su), an AI smart parking navigation system developer; and Mirrorroid (CEO Jung Ji-hye), an AI-based smart mirror developer, who will introduce their business models.
Representatives from Saudi venture capital firms, including Iskander Haouam from Abu Dhabi SME Hub, Dominik Weihs from NEOM, Ahmed Ezzat from IMPACT46, Anas Agag from Quality Code SA, and Amal El Habziz from The Synergy Network, will participate.
Following the startup presentations, Jung Hyun-wook, CEO of beSUCCESS, will provide feedback on Pangyo Techno Valley startups’ entry into the Saudi and Middle Eastern markets, discussing market conditions and strategies.
Kang Sung-cheon, Director of Gyeonggido Business Science Accelerator, expressed hope that the online networking event would be beneficial for entering the Saudi and Middle Eastern markets. He mentioned that the agency would continue to provide various opportunities for the growth and global expansion of Pangyo innovation startups.
Additionally, the GBSA supports startup overseas promotion and global expansion through activities such as startup coverage, interviews, writing and distributing articles in Korean and English, and producing video content. Companies located in Pangyo Techno Valley’s first and second phases are eligible to participate in this program.
