Online registration for South Korea’s most awaited global startup event COMEUP 2023 edition has started. Korea Startup Forum (KSF), the organizer of COMEUP, Korea’s most prominent startup event, announced that online registration for ‘COMEUP 2023’ is open for online registration until November 6 on the official COMEUP website. The annual event will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul from November 8 to 10.
The event is open to anyone interested in startups, including ecosystem stakeholders such as (prospective) entrepreneurs, startup employees, and investors. For those who register early, there are compelling incentives awaiting – details of enlightening programs, a well-structured schedule, as well as vouchers for Baedal Minjok (a popular food delivery service) and Socar (a trusted car rental service).
Applications for the on-site business matching program for startup founders and employees have also opened during the same period. Bizmatching is a one-on-one meetup program that allows you to meet face-to-face with multiple investors during the event. On the website, you can select your preferred investor and time slot to meet with them at the event. As of August, about 150 investors, including worldwide venture capitalists, accelerators, and large corporations, have registered for the COMEUP business matching program. If you can’t make it to the event, you can also take advantage of the online bizmatching program.
This year, COMEUP is backed by 69 experts from the ecosystem(Advisory committee) and has set a vision to be “the most startup-like event in the world.” In particular, the startup accelerator program ‘COMEUP Stars 2023’ has drastically changed its selection method to a tournament. Moreover, it will be able to meet disruptive startups with intensive mentoring with COMEUP Houses consisting of VC firms and accelerators. 40 teams from the Rookie League (COMEUP 40) and 30 teams from the Academy League, selected after preliminary pitching competition, will take the stage for the main event, where they will pitch and compete for the championship. The Rocket League 20 team will also share their experiences as senior entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, various programs such as ‘Future Talk’, a conference session that provides insights from global entrepreneurs and industry experts; ‘OI Ground’, where large corporations and CVCs share open innovation cases and discover collaboration opportunities with startups; ‘COMEUP X’, a global collaboration session with startup support organizations; and ‘On the COMEUP’, a one-on-one business platform that connects startups and investors, will be organized to help participating startups expand their reach in the global market and explore growth opportunities.
Sungjin Choi, CEO of KSF, who is the chief Executive Officer of COMEUP 2023, said, “This year’s COMEUP will further emphasize the bottom-up method led by the private sector to contain the honest and candid story of startups.” He added, “We look forward to seeing the startup ecosystem come together and participate in this event.”
