In the world of 3D creations and design, Korean startup Carpenstreet has developed Acon3D, a design market platform that eases content creators’ work. The Seoul-based startup allows creators 3D designs/models usage for creations in various fields such as webtoons/comics, illustrations, 3D games, animations, broadcasting, etc.
For webtoons, building models, animations & more
Acon3D makes creative activities easier through its open platform for 3D design/models. It sells 3D-graphic background scenes that artists, animators and other content creators can incorporate into games and different animations to reduce production time. The creators can purchase the file, download it, draw characters, export designs and work on models. Acon3D was launched in 2019, with the initial target market being webtoon creators. It is now also used for 3D modeling of buildings, exteriors and interiors, 3D games, animations, etc. Webtoon creators use Acon3D with Naver Webtoon, Daum Webtoon, Kakao Page, Lezhin Comics, and Toomix for 3D models, backgrounds and props for their works.
Carpenstreet is planning to expand the market to become the center of 3D asset production for contents creation, by enabling more diverse creators and enabling ordinary users to use the models on ACON3D. Since the service launch in 2019, Acon 3D has attracted attention from content creators/companies such as webtoons, games, VR/AR, and metaverses in over 100 countries worldwide and is growing rapidly every quarter.
Carpenstreet Co., Ltd., is being recognized as a promising startup in the domestic and foreign industries, such as selected by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups TIPS Program ’20 and Forbes 30 Under 30 ‘2021. Carpenstreet raised $1.2 million in 2020 in its pre-series A funding round from investors that include Seoul-based venture capital firm Spring Camp and Tokyo-based investment firm SBI Investment.
