Artificial Intelligence (AI) is penetrating more and more aspects of our lives. AI-powered music technology is creating wonders in the rhythm world, and now AI robots are being made to croon to various tunes. The world’s first AI robot rapper FN Meka recently released its single, and now in the fray, we have DVZY and DU5T, AI rappers created by Korean startup Neosapience.
First-ever AI rappers debut in Korea
AI rappers DVZY and DU5T, created by Neosapience, released for their service Typecast, have released new song teasers. DVZY’s debut teaser, “Question,” is about a conflict between lovers and sings with a sharp and severe tone to speak the language of the heart, love. DU5T’s debut teaser, “Sum” (which means “island” in Korean), compares his life to an island and promises that he will pursue his dreams and stand tall even as he battles the storms of life. Both teasers raise expectations and leave people wondering.
DVZY and DU5T are 100% self-proclaimed AI rappers. Anyone can rap as long as he or she has lyrics to deliver. At the tap of a finger, entered lyrics are reborn as rap music with these two AI rappers. Neosapience service Typecast, where DVZY and DU5T will be available, has already secured more than 500,000 users in the two years since its launch in 2019 and has secured paid users in eight countries.
Neosapience, a company that operates Typecast, said that in an era of a metaverse where the virtual and real worlds are merging, voice actors with artificial intelligence could play different roles just as real voice actors play different roles. The company also announced its plan to develop its technology further to take on various roles of artificial humans such as newscasters, lecturers, and singers and move forward as a platform where AI actors can play an active role.
