Travelling is always fun, but planning travel can be tedious. It is not always easy to find the perfect destination that one can enjoy to the fullest. So while booking for holidays, people often scout through social media platforms and various sites to find out what activities and explorations are offered at the travel destination. To help travel-loving people choose perfect destinations, Korean startup Hotsunny Co.Ltd has developed a social platform dedicated to sharing travel experiences called CoolP.
Short videos on a variety of themes to help choose the best destinations
CoolP shows things to do at travel sights with short personal videos (18sec) shared by other travelers. Users can pick a place or an activity and flip through videos to see what they can do there and get information on the name and location of the place. The app already has content from 1700 cities and numerous themes. CoolP sorts every travel experience expressed with short video clips by place and theme, making search efficient. CoolP’s unique “Duel Search Bar” provides an optimized way of getting trip ideas and suggestions on what to do on a trip.
CoolP’s AI module collects all data of different types of travelers (by places and theme) and matches them with what similar travelers would probably like. The social travel experience-sharing platform can be particularly helpful for self-guided tour reservations. It helps travelers draw a sense of the destinations from other travelers’ videos and makes travel planning easier. The app also has features like a Bucket list and My travel log to narrow search and store preferences.
CoolP was developed over three years of work. The company launched promotional activities and targetted Jeju Island in South Korea, one of the most visited domestic travel destinations in 2020. The app collected over 3000 video content in just one place. By the end of 2021, the startup wants to create the world’s largest personal travel video content pool.
