Weddell’s smart AI algorithms can recommend the best products and services for parents. So instead of browsing on multiple platforms, they can check Weddell’s single platform. Weddell also has over 2,500 parenting content available on its platform, which is updated every week. Parents can check essential guides for each week of pregnancy and information about packing baby supplies, maternity supplies bags etc. It also has parenting guidelines from leading US pharmacists, psychologists, medical practitioners, etc. Weddell also guides new parents regarding baby food, hygiene management, conflict management, etc. The startup also holds special events through its ‘Weddell Store’, where a variety of baby products, childcare brands are promoted.
Weddell aspires to become the first unicorn startup in Korea’s parenting market. It also wants to expand its business to other Asian countries. The startup’s business model currently is through commerce commission fee for its Weddell Store, brand partnership and overseas sales. Weddell accumulates the latest trend and market data in Korea, leading to data-driven sales and exports. The startup has got investment from BonAngles. Its goal for 2021-22 is to source 2000 more products on ‘Weddell Store’ including Baby and parenting goods, clothing, mask, strollers, blankets, bleach, probiotics, etc and establish the platform in South East Asia.
