Korean startup HICS Company’s technology makes 3D nano-unit inspection more precise

HICS' technology provides precise measurement data to detect defects.

Korean startup HICS Company (Hologram Integration & Customized Solution) is making 3D nanoscopy precise and easy. HICS is leading in providing nano measurement solutions with its unique technology that utilizes a hologram data acquisition principle for nano-unit 3D shape measurement.

Product applicable to various industries

HICS was established in 2014 by a team of experts in real-time nano accuracy measurement and inspection. The startup has successfully developed a whole new machine vision backed by cutting edge 3D-NDM/R and 3D-NDM/T technology that can readily applicable to various industries. HICS’ solution is it provides precise measurement data to users by measuring the 3D shape information of the surface and the internal characteristics of the transparent object with the accuracy of the nano unit.

In the current scenario, it is difficult for companies to manufacture and popularise OLED displays because of the high need for precision to find defects. None of the existing inspection machines can provide quantitative data of 3D nanoscale defects and foreign materials. HICS’ technology can help resolve the issue as it measures and inspects the nanoscale depth real-time with light hologram data application. The company’s high-speed image processing technology requires only one shot of hologram data to provide real-time 3D defects data.

HICS’ nanoscopy technology solution can be applied to various industries and equipment, like:

  •   Smartphone Camera Lens Refraction Inspection
  •   Smartphone Window Glass Defect Inspection
  •   Cell Culturing Monitoring for New Medicine Development
  •   WOLED Encapsulation Defect Inspection
  •   LCD Display Color-Filter Laser Repairing Inspection
  •   Immunocyto Reaction Monitoring

Bringing in innovation to the Nano-technology market

The current global market is rapidly moving to high integration – high precision displays and there is a huge demand for nanoscale inspection technologies. HICS’ technology will create great value in the AMOLED Display, Semiconductor, and microlens market by improving yield rate quickly and drastically. Besides, the technology can be applied to Nano Integration market whose market size is over $ 3 billion and its annual growth rate is 20%.

The startup aims to deliver LCD color-filter repair equipment & cell monitoring equipment this year and also develop semiconductor wafer flatness inspection equipment. The company aims to have an annual sale of $ 1 million by the end of 2019. HICS has received $2 million in investment till date from various investors. HICS team is hoping that their technology and products will bring innovation to the Nano industry rapidly.

HICS’ team is attending the ‘Guro Innovation Summit’ 2019 to pitch its product for exploring investment and funding opportunities. The Summit is to be organized by the Guro district office and Seoul Venture Incubator (SVI) in partnership with beSUCCESS on July 18th, 2019 at the G-Valley Convention.
