Korean startup 42Maru Inc. wants to be a leading solution provider in South Korea for cognitive searches to help businesses. This is why the CEO of the startup DK Dong-Hwan Kim launched 42Maru in 2015 to develop high powered search engines based on the cognitive search that would improve business knowledge management.
The startup’s deep-semantic QA (Question-Answer) platform understands a user’s real intention in a question and derives a single answer from extensive unstructured data. 42Maru provides technological solutions for smart devices and businesses using Artificial Intelligence Search, deep understanding, and machine comprehension.
The QA Platform
42Maru’s Question and Answer platform give a single answer to a user’s query, unlike conventional search engines that list multiple answers to a user’s query. The platform uses a combination of language manipulation and search techniques to find the exact information you’re looking for and offer a direct answer to questions posed in a natural language. It is based on a closed Domain (topic-specific) questions.
The QA platform’s deep semantic search is built with deep learning-based ‘NLU,’ ‘paraphrasing’ that detects and expands similar expressions, and unique ‘MRC’ technology. Its Natural Language Understanding (NLU) semantically understands a question to understand the user’s intent. It then converts the information of a text expressed in natural language into a semantic presentation.
The QA platform’s Machine Reading Comprehension (MRC) comprises deep learning AI technology that understands a user’s questions and provides a single answer.
Technology for FinTech & other sectors
The technology was initially created for the financial and life insurance sectors. However, firms from different industries still use the platform to streamlining business operations through Cognitive AI, improving their product usage with accurate Question Answers. Car manufacturers also use the QA platform as a driving assistant during drive tests. The platform helps the driver on the test route by answering the customer’s questions.
42Maru offers a wide range of AI-based products that suit different individual and business needs. Its KMS for call center & internal staff minimizes business risks through building an artificial intelligence-based KMS solution that supports your enterprise’s integrated knowledge management process. The startup’s AI customer chatbot enhances customer service through AI chatbot by NLU/NLG/DM technologies. The chatbot allows businesses to extract accurate answers from unstructured financial documents and generate answers automatically, unlike other chatbots.
The startup provides an internal help-desk chatbot, which increases communication efficiency for internal employees. The chatbot enables real-time response even in the absence of routine communication replacement and expects temporary expansion of personnel for HR/GA/Finance/Accounting and IT help desk.
42Maru’s Conversational AI concierge technology provides ‘untact’ financial services to customers who visit the branch. Technology expects numerous customer effects, such as expanding customer contact points and improving customer satisfaction. Its Text Analytics technology analyzes internal text data and uses search technology to identify business issues and causes. The Text Analytics enables natural language processing/analysis, statistics, visualization and reporting techniques, etc.
Expansion plans
With its AI-enabled technology, 42Maru is solving most of the current business risk, innovation, customer satisfaction, and recruitment problems in numerous industries. The startup has received several awards, such as the Techstars London acceleration award, AWS AI Challenge Award, and took first place in the SQUAD 2.0 competition held in the USA.
The startup’s current strategy is based on its employees’ internal growth, search content equipment, and building equipment. 42Maru is set to expand to the European and American markets through its strategic partnerships with the Techstars London Accelerator program, Samsung C Lab, and Intel AI builders. The startup has made local partnerships with KGCCI, Kookmin Bank, Lenovo Korea, Spring Camp, and ShinHan Bank. On January 7, 2021, 42Maru announced that it has been selected for Industrial Bank of Korea’s acceleration program “IBK Changgong.”
