Healthcare has become the top priority for everyone post the COVID-19 pandemic impact. It is also become essential to develop digital healthcare and health data analyses.
According to the ‘My Data Public Awareness Survey’ conducted by the Korean Presidential Committee on the Fourth Industrial Revolution in January, ‘Health and Medical Care (42%)’ ranked first as the field of ‘My Data’ that would be most helpful in real life. The result shows a high public interest in using data in the health and medical field.
Keeping with the trend and demand, Korean FinTech startup Rainist, which operates BankSalad, a platform that analyses and shares financial data by banks, cards, insurance, etc., has entered into health tech. BankSalad officially launched its service, the ‘Find My Dangerous Disease,’ which provides statistical incidence rates of future diseases using personal health data. The startup collaborates with Selvas AI, a digital health care company, for the service.
10 major diseases can be predicted with app
‘Find My Dangerous Disease’ predicts the statistical probability of occurrence of major diseases based on the user’s personal health information. It analyzes individual health data based on disease incidence statistical data built through collaboration between BankSalad and ‘Selvas AI.’
Ten major diseases can be confirmed by ‘Find My Dangerous Diseases’ of BankSalad, including stroke, diabetes, heart disease, dementia, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer (male), and breast cancer (female). An individual’s statistical incidence rate prediction is calculated by adding the health check-up record of the National Health Insurance Corporation and the age, gender, and family history items of the user.
A 10-year forecasting graph for major disease incidence and monitoring service provides the future incidence rate. Users can also check various information related to disease management, such as symptoms and complications for various diseases, average medical expenses, healthy age, and peer comparison. In addition, health data can be accessed from a ‘prevention’ point of view, and personalized exercise information and lifestyle guides are provided to help customers manage their health.
Health management through data
BankSalad paid attention to the fact that, despite public interest, there is no clear individual-led health management standard, and in fact, improvement in results through health management cannot be confirmed.
‘Find my Dangerous disease’, an incidence rate prediction based on statistical data, can be a criterion for inducing health care to lower the incidence rate. This includes trying to exercise to reduce an individual’s incidence or purchasing health products.
BankSalad’s Park Jin-woo in charge of the ‘Find My Dangerous Diseases’ service, said, “The field with the highest potential for use after financial is health. Following genetic testing, BankSalad will create a new paradigm of data-based smart health management with the ‘Find My Dangerous Disease’ service.”
