HeartForce, a startup focused on the medical technology sector, has impressed the world with their product Cardio Pro, a heart screening device. HeartForce AG is a Swiss-Canadian startup in the Digital Health sector. HeartForce has developed a technology that will change the way people detect cardiac disease – the leading cause of death and disability worldwide.
According to WHO, cardiovascular diseases are the number 1 cause of deaths worldwide. The problem is that heart diseases show no signs or symptoms in the early stage. Existing diagnostic technologies are expensive and are generally used in patients with symptoms, leaving people without symptoms untreated.
For the first time, Cardio Pro offers an affordable and precise measurement method for the early detection of cardiovascular disease that can be completed in less than one minute and can save many lives. For outs outstanding health tech solution, HeartForce was selected as one of the top companies in the K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC) 2020, South Korea’s biggest global accelerator program.
The sensor that works like a seismograph
HeartForce’s sensor, in combination with a mobile app, will turn any smartphone into a screening device for the early detection of cardiac disease. By providing a precise and cost-effective consumer device to detect cardiac disease, Cardio Pro will be contributing to lower the global mortality rate. Cardio Pro is the world’s first complete heart screening device for the early detection and prevention of heart disease.
The startup aims towards changing the way people detect cardiac disease. Based on a technology similar to a seismograph, HeartForce’s cardiac-pro capture and analyze heart vibrations traveling through the chest.
Cardiac Performance Metrics (CPM) is their ground-breaking in-house technology that helps to indicate whether a heart is healthy or experiencing problems. Among other things, a healthy heart operates on perfect timing at a regular rhythm and with an optimal strength of contraction. If any of these actions fall outside their normal range, the heart is not performing properly, signaling impaired function.
HeartForce provides the missing link in the early detection of Cardiac Disease (CD) by designing a simple self-test that eliminates the need for expensive equipment, technicians, or medical intervention. A person will know their proper heart performance in just one minute on their smartphone using the device built by HeartForce.
Winning top prize at K-startup grand challenge
HeartForce received the 5th place prize out of 2648 companies from 118 countries at the K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC) 2020 in South Korea.
