Korean startup Field Mentor Corp., an operator of a golf field lesson platform, has secured seed investment. Individual investors Kim Gi-sa Lab and Kim Hyun-joon, co-founder of Vuno, participated in the funding round.
Field Mentor’s golf matching service connects amateur and corporate customers with top-class professional golfers. Since its commercial launch in 2022, the platform has onboarded approximately 300 top-class professional golfers within a year. Notable field mentors include Deok-ho God, Seon Ji-seon, Hyung-joo Kim, Mi-so Lim, Ga-hyung Kim, Seong-mo Moon, Geun-young Ahn, Dong-hui Kim, and Aran Jo.
The company is experiencing rapid growth in its B2B segment, attracting customers from prestigious luxury cars brands like Porsche and Audi, as well as blue-chip companies such as PB Centers in the financial sector. Field Mentor offers a range of programs, including domestic and overseas camp lessons, access to top golf courses, 18-hole field lessons, and short game lessons.
Shin Myeong-jin, CEO of Kisa Lab Kim, expressed his admiration for Field Mentor’s focused approach and expertise in the niche area of professional golfers. He also commended the strong teamwork displayed by the CEOs, Kim Ji-hoon and Lee Seung-ha, which influenced the investment decision.
Kim Hyun-joon, co-founder of KOSDAQ-listed medical AI company Vuno and CEO of venture capital firm Byte (VYTE), recognized the potential for success in the field lesson and companion golf round business. He was attracted to the determination and execution capabilities demonstrated by the Field Mentor team.
Kim Ji-hoon,CEO of Field Mentor, expressed his aspirations to utilize this investment as a stepping stone. The company aims to attract additional talent, solidify its market position in B2B professional golfer recruitment, and expand its B2C matching services for amateur golfers.
Established in 2021, Field Mentor had previously secured pre-seed investment from One Billion Partners and former Lightning Market CEO Jang Won-gwi in 2022. It has been recognized as a promising sports startup by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the National Sports Promotion Agency (KSPO) for two consecutive years. In 2022, the company obtained venture business certification.
