Gadget Korea Inc. Officially Registers Korea's First Full GSMA Membership

Korean startup Gadget Korea Inc., which operates eSIM-based data roaming platform “USIMSA” and “Superalink,” announced that it was officially registered as a full member of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) on August 8, 2024. With this full member registration, GadgetKorea Inc. has the opportunity to play a more important role in the global mobile communication industry and has laid the foundation for strengthening technological innovation and international cooperation in the future.

GSMA is the world’s largest association of mobile communication industries, involving more than 750 mobile operators and more than 400 related companies around the world, and is a leading organization in standardization, technology development, and policy-making of the mobile communication industry. Domestic companies registered as full-time members of GSMA are mainly large telecommunication companies such as SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, and Gadget Korea was registered as a full-time member of GSMA for the first time as a start-up, which is the result of recognizing the company’s technology and growth potential in the global market.

Gadget Korea Inc. is a Korean start-up with expertise in using eSIM other than eSIM-based data roaming services. Since its establishment, it has opened a domestic and global service platform to provide customized roaming plans, which are major BM models, and is steadily growing in domestic and international markets, including B2B services and enterprise businesses that supply data within M2M (inter-object communication). Through this GSMA registration, USIM will establish itself as an important partner in the global mobile communication industry.

“This registration marks an important milestone in further solidifying Gadget Korea’s global technological leadership, and we will now accelerate the development of next-generation communication technologies through cooperation with mobile communication industries around the world,” said Yoo Sang-hyuk, CEO of Gadget Korea Inc. Yoo added, “With this registration, Gadget Korea will provide better communication services to our customers and further expand our position in the global market.”

Through this registration as a full member, USIM plans to expand cooperation with global telecommunication operators and actively participate in research and development of the latest communication technology standards. Beyond eSIM-based data roaming and eSIM utilization solutions, it is expected to accelerate technological innovation in IoT (Internet of Things) using iSIM in the future and further strengthen its influence in the global market.
