No-code tools are revolutionizing how businesses and individuals build and launch web-based applications and products. As per a study by Gartner in 2021, by 2024, 7 out of 10 apps released in 2024 will be developed by those not technology professionals. Korean tech startup Skylink has unveiled its transformative platform, WaveOn, designed to empower individuals without coding knowledge to create sophisticated applications.
The inception of WaveOn was driven by the aspiration to democratize software development, making it accessible to a broader audience beyond traditional programmers. Skylink, a startup composed of development experts from prestigious institutions such as Seoul National University and Naver, marked its official debut in April 2022.
Backed by initial investment from Spring Camp VC, a subsidiary of Naver Snow, the company embarked on a mission to simplify software development. CEO Gong Wan-sik, a former software developer and AI modeling engineer at Naver, expressed his motivation for founding Skylink: to eliminate the challenges faced by numerous startups in developing Software, ultimately leading to their failure due to the complexity of the process.
WaveOn is a no-code platform that enables users to craft feature-rich Software without delving into intricate coding procedures. This Software as a Service (SaaS)-level platform eliminates the necessity for expert programming skills, opening the door for marketers, startups, and commercial entities to create applications tailored to their unique needs.
One of WaveOn’s standout features is its versatility. Users can design everything from marketing content, surveys, and psychological counseling programs to complex systems like landing pages, content platforms, and one-page payment commerce interfaces. The platform’s intuitive interface allows users to create applications using only a mouse, eliminating the traditional barriers to entry.
Since its launch, Skylink has been on a trajectory of exponential growth. Monthly sales have experienced a remarkable threefold increase compared to the previous year, with sales to domestic conglomerates and individual users rapidly expanding. CEO Gong emphasized the cost-effectiveness of WaveOn compared to outsourcing development, citing the platform’s ability to host and modify sites at an affordable additional cost.
CEO Gong envisions a future where no-code startups gain traction on the global stage. The company is already targeting the North American market, with a collaborative growth model at the forefront of its expansion strategy. Skylink has been selected for the prestigious Asan Voyager program, an accelerator program that helps startups expand globally.
