COMEUP 2021 Asia’s most prominent startup festival scheduled this year from November 17-19 saw tremendous participation from startups seeking to reach domestic and international investors. The event provided growth opportunities for innovative startups with conferences, IR presentations by COMEUP STARS, an open innovation showcase from global companies, biz matching, etc. A panel of esteemed judges heard the pitches during the showcase. It gave valuable advice to the budding startups during the question-and-answer session to help them scale up successfully.
In 2021 COMEUP STARS are innovative startups chosen to represent the event. A total of 783 companies applied for 72 spots, resulting in a highly competitive rate. It is evidence of great interest in COMEUP from startups around the world. Selected 56 Korean startups (77.8%) and 16 overseas startups (22.2%) presented themselves to investors worldwide during the COMEUP event. In addition, they were given priority during biz matching with venture capital (VC) around the world and networking opportunities with past and fellow current startups.
dfango2o (Dongjoon Lee, Co-founder)
Founded in 2019, the startup is designed for a specialized product for the companion market. Unlike other companies, it relies on content, community and commerce to provide a better pet-owning experience for its customers. It strives both online and offline to keep users and dogs together, and it has a dog walking app that assists the consumers to walk the dog better.
Ant (Jong Yun Choi, CEO)
This startup is a research data integration service for the BioTech and the Nanotech sectors. It is trying to capitalize the 3,335 trillion Korean Won market through machine learning (ML). The startup leverages IT technology in the Bio-tech and the Bio-nano industry, where such services are dearth. This startup is working to develop such technology and provide it to the companies in the BioTech and Nanotech sectors.
EMOTIV (Jungsang Min, CEO)
EMITIV is working in the field of the Development of digital therapeutics for children’s ADHD using mobile games and cognitive modeling. It is revolutionizing neuro research one brain at a time. It records data efficiently with easy-to-follow instructions that help ensure quality and completion. Based on the data, a future course of action is planned in the field of therapeutics.
CoreDAR (Takgeon Lee, CEO)
CoreDAR is a hardware tech company that has developed GLAMOS, which uses LiDAR technology to turn any digital screen into a fully interactive touch screen. GLAMOS projects a virtual 2D screen and uses LiDAR to sense motion-activated gestures that are translated into movements on the screen of any device to which it is connected.
PUSHOONG (Seungjoon Ryu, CEO)
The startup has designed a self-discovery platform for the MZ generation, Poomang. It conducts a digital psychological test, and based on the analysis of the users based on their activity on the forum, Poomang helps its GenZ users improve their lives by making better career decisions and guiding them with their future endeavors.

It is a Healthcare platform using a smart camera. The startup has designed Dr. CLOBO, a compact high-resolution camera with an LED inlay that allows checking otherwise hard to view body areas. With the Dr.CLOBO camera, get a clear and detailed view of hard-to-reach areas effortlessly in the comfort of your home and consult expert doctors on the Dr.CLOBO app who will diagnose based on the image generated. The health and well startup is currently focused on oral health.
