Vaiv Co., a company specializing in Ai & Big Data, acquired a 28.5% stake in the influencer commerce platform Basil Club, becoming the second largest shareholder. With this strategic investment, it plans to actively utilize its big data analysis service ‘Sometrend’ in commerce to expand its influence in the influencer commerce market.
Basil Club is a commerce platform that connects influencers and consumers based on customers’ tastes and interests. It brings together the community to help form optimal networking between buyers, sellers, and brands.
Basil Club started full-scale service in January 2022 to improve limited services and inefficient brand communication provided to consumers and sellers while the influencer marketing market is growing significantly. The biggest feature is that when influencers directly curate products, fans can shop and communicate with the influencer simultaneously within the platform.
Basil Club provides deals matching, operation, and personal branding advancement through a real-time trend analysis system, enabling influencers to expose their products and brands to target customers more accurately.
Vaiv plans to promote various business cooperation by combining its AI technology and some trend with Basil Club’s commerce platform. “First of all, in the case of influencers, we are reviewing the development of services that incorporate some trends, such as analyzing popular tool product items by channels such as Instagram, Twitter, and blogs, or finding influential influencers in our field in the case of brands,”
Vaiv CEO Kim Seong-eon said, “As the influencer commerce market is growing explosively from about 400 billion won in 2020 to about 6 trillion won in 2022, we are leading the market with a new service that combines and develops our technology and the service of Basil Club. Vaiv plans to expand business areas that can create synergies based on existing businesses such as Some Trend in the future.”
