Sensual Moment, the company behind PLING, a sensual audio drama platform catering to women, has raised 2 billion won ($1.5 million) in Series A bridge investment. Sui Generis Partners, which had previously participated in the Series A investment in June last year, made a follow-up investment on its own.
Launched in December 2020, Sensual Moment introduced PLING as Korea’s first sensual audio content service, combining sexuality with a sensuous and delicate mood. PLING offers approximately 2,000 audio contents and 10,000 web novels created collaboratively by professional writers, voice actors, and voice creators from YouTube. Since its release in April 2021, the app has been downloaded 370,000 times and has ranked first in the App Store book category four times.
With the latest investment, Sensual Moment plans to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) voice technology into the app to enhance the listening experience by providing a variety of voices for content consumption. The company also aims to expand globally, with a particular focus on the Japanese market.
“We will lead the global expansion of K-audio content by providing a three-dimensional listening environment through AI, based on PLING’s original IP,” said an official from Sensual Moment. Kim Han-jae, a partner at Sui Generis, stated that Sensual Moment has shown significant growth potential and the ability to enter the global market, which led to their decision to make a follow-up investment.
The investment from Sui Generis Partners highlights the increasing interest and investment in innovative content platforms, especially in the audio and entertainment sectors. Sensual Moment’s unique offering of sensual audio content for women has gained popularity, and the integration of AI voice technology could further enhance its competitive edge in the market.
Overall, Sensual Moment’s successful Series A bridge investment underscores the growing demand for diverse and inclusive content experiences, and the potential for global expansion in the fast-growing market of audio content platforms.
