Korean startup Noutecompany has made the lives of numerous students easy with its digital stationery content platform ‘WeBudding.’ Noutecompany provides WeBudding, an open market service that trades digital stationery contents used in tablets, such as digital note templates and sticker images.
The web-based C2C digital stationery service offers a variety of templates for digital diaries, notepads, letters, planners, stickers, etc. As the non-face-to-face academic environment has become common among the MZ generation after the outbreak of COVID19, the transaction volume of digital stationery content used in tablet writing apps, drawing apps, and digital content related to learning and writing is increasing.
WeBudding is growing as Asia’s largest open market service for these contents. WeBudding has more than 1,800 global digital creators, with accumulated content exceeding 13,000. In WeBudding, digital stationery products such as note forms, diaries, planners, sticker images, and brush files required in a non-face-to-face learning environment are mainly traded. In particular, it is characterized by a lower fee than other platforms, a faster entry process, and product compositions tailored to the lifestyle and tastes of the MZ generation.
WeBudding launched the beta service in 2020 and has shown an average of more than 27% growth each month, with more than 300,000 content downloads. WeBudding has creators registered from more than twenty countries, including New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, India, Spain, and Mexico, as well as from Asia-Pacific countries such as the United States, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, etc.
CEO Donghwan Shin said, “The culture of using digital stationery content on tablets started first in the North American and European markets, but there is no platform that specializes in these markets. We are providing the platform. In the future, we plan to expand our services in connection with Edutech and IP (intellectual property) content making students connected to each other..”
Noutecompany has been recognized for its growth potential by investors. It has attracted 2.2 billion won worth of pre-Series A investments from Strong Ventures, Capstone Partners, and Schmidt. In addition, it was selected for the technology investment program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (TIPS), South Korea.
“In the future, the number of students saying they cannot study without an iPad or Galaxy Tab will increase. The influence of ‘WeBudding,’ which buys and sells all digital assets that can be used on tablets, will grow. It is rare for an early startup to advance into the global market. Digital content knows no borders. Noutecompany has great growth potential,” said Eun-Kang Song, CEO of Capstone Partners, one of the investing companies in Noutecompany.
