The Pandemic period has brought evolution for the fashion e-commerce businesses as they utilize VR/AR technologies to enhance the consumer experience. Virtual Fitting solutions are much in demand in the fashion industry. Korean fashion tech startup Aiva that operates the AI-based clothing virtual fitting solution ‘myFit’ and XR showroom platform ‘VEER,‘ has got fresh investment from leading investment accelerator CNT Tech.
Aiva’s MyFit solution is an AI-based clothing size recommendation service that derives more than 20 body sizes in 10 seconds with two front and side photos of the user. It implements realistic virtual fitting by putting clothes on the user’s 3D avatar. A walking simulation is also possible with MyFit.
Aiva’s VEER platform creates a WebGL standard-based Metaverse showroom, so fashion brands and distributors can present clothes without directly visiting customers, and create a VR fashion show to provide metaverse shopping that connects actual purchases.
Aiva is currently collaborating with New Balance, TaylorMade, Avnew Franc, and the Korea Fashion Industry Research Institute to create and launch a VR showroom. An industry official said, “After adopting Aiva’s solution, consumers can wear clothes non-face-to-face and receive size recommendations, reducing product returns and saving resources in production and consumption activities.”
Aiva CEO Bo-min Kim said, “The trend of non-face-to-face consumption, which has become a new daily life due to Corona, is advancing the era of virtual experience shopping.” CNT Tech has discovered and nurtured 24 early startup companies through its early startup package program last year and invested a total of 700 million won in 6 companies.
