I am a great fan of Korean webtoons, especially Lezhin comics. I read in koreatechdesk.com that it is a startup and is performing very well in the webtoon sector. I happened to start reading webtoons last year and liked a lot of them. I want to share my thoughts about what webtoons to read in 2020. The digital comic format of Webtoons originated in South Korea. The long vertical continuous scroll format of webtoons are great for reading using smartphones. I read it while traveling or at night before sleeping. Lezhin has several webtoons, and I follow quite a few. The website releases episodes every 24 hours or every week. I still am using the free membership, but soon want to use its premium features as well.
Below the 3 webtoons, I follow this year and love each chapter of it.
1) My Starry Sky: This is one of the top free webtoons available on Lezhin. It is a high school drama about young Yeonduk and his friend Skyler. Skyler is a trendy boy at school, but he has family issues that only Yeonduk can understand. Skyler and Yeonduk’s families also know each other, and Yeonduk has a crush on Skyler. The comic is fun, young at heart, and yet bit complicated with relationships. There are high school fun and some seriously deep thoughts as well. I am enjoying the comic with one episode each day.
2) Something About Us: Since I like stories about friendships and love. This webtoon about best friends Gayoung and Woojin is another one I am reading. It is a college romance and usually on the bestseller list. Again this also has college drama, friendships, love complications, and a lot of fun. I love the artwork of this webtoon quite a lot.
3) Vampire Heart: This is a Vampire story but with a similar friendship background. Dokyung, the main character, meets a vampire at his school. A weird relation is formed between the two. First, Dokyung fears the vampire, but then he finds him peculiar and quirky. However, to enjoy this webtoon, I recommend going through the previous two webtoon series of Blade & Dust.
